Cinemaz is an app that makes it easy for users (tourists, locals, etc.) to find a cinema near their location, see the billboard, upcoming events or news from the cultural sector, buy tickets and choose their seat; They can also order food so that when you get to the movies the kitchen starts up so you don't have to wait in the restaurant. This app has a list and map of Cinemaz theaters in every city in Sweden with pictures and trailers of the movies, food and drinks..
People who love cinema and culture who like to go to the cinema in their free time, be informed of the latest news from the sector and the new films that are on the billboard.
UX designer designing an application / web for Cinemaz from conception to delivery.
Design a Cinemaz web / app that allows the user to buy tickets and choose their seat in a closer cinema. You can also select the menu to eat and it will be brought to your seat.
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototyping, usability studies, accessibility accounting, and design iteration.
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand to users that I am design for and your needs. A core group of users identified through research. They were young people and adults who went to the movies in their free time with their friends or partners. This group of users confirmed initial assumptions about Cinemaz customers, but the investigation. It also revealed that the price of the cinema was not the only factor that limited users to go to the cinema, but that after the pandemic they needed to know the availability of seats in the room. Other user problems included schedules, cinematographic genres, theatrical or musical events, interest in learning about other cultures through audiovisual culture. It's hard to get an affordable ticket price when you go with the whole family.
Most people don't like wasting time buying because the tickets run out quickly. .
People want all their events in the same application to remember dates and keep every detail in mind.
People with disabilities have trouble booking a specific seat to enjoy of paliculas in the cinema and different events.
Movie and event ticket buying websites are often not very clear. Most platforms for event tickets are not equipped with maps of the stages.
The first designs allowed some customization. But after the usability studies I added additional options like the main image that gives you direct access to the list and map of all theaters. I also revised the layout so that users see all the options in the menu when they first click on the screen. In addition, a bar was added at the bottom of the page with the logos of social networks and access to terms and conditions, contact and privacy policy.
The second usability study revealed frustration with the flow of booking conditions. To streamline this flow, I added a summary screen with all the purchase information. In the usability study revealed the user's need for why it was better to buy tickets with Cinemaz than with another application? That is why the explanatory logos of the advantage of buying with us were added.
The final hi-fi prototype featured cleaner flows of users to buy tickets and reserve seats. It also met the needs of the user by having the option of the order summary to obtain the purchase information done.
Impact: The app makes users feel like the Cinemaz app think about how to meet their needs, it seems how the application knows each user. After the final usability study, one participant said, ”That was really easy.” after completing the entire user flow.
This process has been very rewarding and eye-opening. I learned that almost everyone will see an app differently and what may seem obvious to some is not the case for all. Find the main pain points and work to fix them first. It will help your overall design further.
